Call of Cthulhu (13) CALL OF CTHULHU is both a horror roleplaying game and a line of fiction from Chaosium, based primarily upon the writings of Howard Phillips Lovecraft. Continuum (3) The Continuum RPG (and its sister game, Narcissist) is a time travel rpg somewhat rigourous in its science and in its believability. It requires a bit of math and bookkeeping, but is the most realistic time travel rpg. Cyberpunk 2020 (17) The original roleplaying game of the dark future; a world of corporate assassins, heavy-metal heroes and brain-burning cyberhackers, packed with cutting-edge technology and intense urban action. Dungeons and Dragons (238) Dungeons & Dragons is a traditional fantasy RPG published by Wizards of the Coast. The original Dungeons & Dragons, first published in 1974, is generally regarded as the beginning of modern role-playing games. Earthdawn (7) Earthdawn is set in a mythical past where the evil of the Horrors and their foul, corrupted servants stalk the world searching for victims. Characters are taken from Marvel's vast roster (Spider-man, the Fantastic Four, the Avengers, the X-men, etc.) or can be created by the player. Midian (8) In shadowy alleys, hidden crypts, and wind-scarred plains, lies the bodies of those who fell seeking fortune in the world of Midian. Midian is a full-featured Dark Fantasy game. Socially-based, with a strong skill system, Midian emphasizes interactive game play and graphic action. As an Immersive Game World, the actions of each gaming group can affect the whole world. You are also free to carve your own space from the world with Midian's open-source system. Queeste (3) A "classic" dutch class/level rpg with some nice touches, like a fully functional magical language. RuneQuest (10) Chaosium's first roleplaying game, with an elegant percentile skill based system, innovative for its time. Now it is mainly memorable for its setting, Glorantha, a truly original Bronze Age fantasy world with its own unique and extensive mythology. Shadowrun (29) The year is 2060. Magic is as real as the mean streets of the mega-sprawls. Corporations call the shots while nailing each other through covert operatives in cutthroat competition. Spycraft (6) Spycraft, the espionage rpg published by Alderac Entertainment Group, Inc in 2002. Arguably the best written d20 rule book ever... Star Frontiers (5) Star Frontiers was a science-fiction roleplaying game published by TSR, Inc. in the 1980s. It is currently out of print. Star Trek (5) Star Trek began as a unique television series created by Gene Roddenberry. It depicts a future in which humanity has overcome such traditional frailities as racism, poverty, intolerance, warfare and religious strife, and has united with other intelligent species in the galaxy. Star Wars (14) Prepare to clash with Trade Federation battle droids, droid starfighters, battle tanks, and numerous other enemies in Wizards of the Coast's Sci Fi RPG based on the popular movies. Talislanta (5) Talislanta is both the rules system and the name of the fantasy setting developed by Stephan Michael Sechi and published by Bard Games in 1987. Currently published by Shooting Iron Design, the game is best known for its rejection of conventional fantasy character types, and its early advertising slogan "No elves". Top Secret (5) This category covers both versions of the Top Secret role playing game produced by TSR, Inc - Top Secret and Top Secret/S.I. Torg (9) Torg takes place during the Possibility Wars, when extradimensional High Lords have invaded and transformed portions of the Earth into 'cosms' representing different gaming genres. Traveller (21) Traveller is a sci-fi RPG first published in 1977 by Game Designers' Workshop. Originally Traveller was intended to be a system for playing space-opera sci-fi adventures, in the same sense that Dungeons & Dragons is a system for fantasy adventures. However, a setting called the Third Imperium was detailed with the publication of following supplements and has become strongly identified with the game, such that to fans the name Traveller and the Third Imperium are synonymous. Tunnels and Trolls (5) Tunnels and Trolls is a fantasy system originally designed and self-published by Ken St. Andre in 1975. Currently published by Flying Buffalo Inc, T&T is known for its simple mechanics and for being the first roleplaying game with solo adventures. Twilight 2000 (8) Near-future game; portrays the adventures of American soldiers stranded in Europe after World War III.
